| Eileen Collins was selected as an astronaut in NASA thirteenth class (1990). She has flown in space three times. In 1995, she became the first woman to pilot the space shuttle when she served as the STS-63 mission pilot. She also flew as the pilot on STS-84 in 1997. In 1999, she made history once again when she became the first woman commander of the space shuttle, she commanded STS-93. She has logged 22 days in space.
