Gerald P. Carr
Gerald Carr was selected as an astronaut in NASA's fifth class (1966).  He made one flight into space during his time at NASA.  In November of 1973 he was launched into space as the commander of his only mission, Skylab 4.  This would be the final flight of the Skylab program and by far the longest.  Carr and his crew set what was then a spaceflight endurance record which was not broken for several years.  They landed in February of 1974 having spent 84 days in space.  Carr retired from the astronaut corps in 1977.

My Collection: This is a spaceflight achievement first day cover signed by Carr.
