| David Brown was selected as an astronaut in NASA's sixteenth class (1996). During his career, Brown was only able to make one voyage into space. This mission was designated STS-107 and was based heavily on scientific research, Brown served as a Mission Specialist. The mission was scheduled to land on February 1, 2003, at the Kennedy Space Center. During reentry, the Space Shuttle Columbia broke up over Texas which resulted in the vehicle being destroyed and the crew lost. David Brown tragically died along with the rest of his crew. He logged 15 days in space. My Collection: This is an offical 8x10 NASA litho signed by the crew of the lost STS-107 mission. Brown is the astronaut at the far left of the photo. |
