| Anatoli Berezovoi was selected as a cosmonaut in 1970. His only mission came in 1982 when he commanded the first resident crew of the Salyut 7 Space Station. They were launced on Soyuz T-5 in May of 1982 and did not return to Earth for seven months. In 1992, he was forced to retire due to injuries sustained in an armed robbery, he had logged 211 days in space.
