Drive, He Said

One City Centre
The most exciting news I have today is that FedEx delivered the tickets for the trip to South Dakota in May that I won from Great American Country, and the postman delivered the free year's supply of Instant Breakfast that I won from Carnation. At least now I know I won't starve on the trip. (Or on my trip to Vegas next week.) The prize includes a rental car while we're in the Black Hills, but doesn't include a 19% service fee that the rental agency is charging, the bastards. Whenever I am "given" a rental car it always ends up costing me money; when the insurance company gives you one while your car is being repaired, they never cover any insurance that the rental agency wants you to take on their car. I went ahead and sprung last time because (a) it was still icy, (b) I'd just skidded a car over the ice and into the body shop, and (c) it was only ten bucks a day. Then the shop took twelve days to get me my car back. I think I'll take my chances in the Black Hills.
