The thaw
A bright, sunshiny day today, and one has to tread carefully as yesterday's snow is falling off the trees overhead in great big clumps. I still had a big pile of snow on top of my car that I never bothered scraping off, and today I had to keep my wipers going to clear the melt-off that kept streaming in rivulets down my windshield.Albertson's is closing the Grocery Warehouse down the street that they took over from Cub Foods. I went there today to pick up a 15-pound bag of potatoes for 99 cents (provisions to last me until my next payday), and also picked up a pair of carpenter shorts that were marked down to four bucks. I hope I can fit into them come summertime...or my trip to Vegas in two weeks, whichever comes first.
