View today from Platte and Powers
Time today to go to Wal-Mart for provisions for the cat, and to see what samples they're handing out for lunch this Saturday. An especially good haul today: two varieties of honey-and-oat breakfast cereals, Welch's juice, cheddar brats, tortilla soup, and an entire Healthy Choice fudge bar.Then on to the Wild Oats market, where I can get two boxes of Barbara's Oat Squares for $1.89 between my $1.00 coupon and their buy-one-get-one deal (o! for another $1.00 off coupon), and sample their many varieties of chips and salsa, pineapple, strawberries, snap-pea snackers, chai tea, decaffeinated coffee, guacamole, Rondele cheese, black-bean-and-salsa bread, and free vegetable roll at the Sushi bar.
And after all this, I still need to find something to pick up for dinner, once those cans of black beans I stocked up on run out. Thank goodness Safeway has free sample tastings on Sundays.
On the way back from the store I saw a neat propellor plane flying near the air base, and discovered it's pretty awkward trying to get my camera out of the pockets of my new Nautica fleece in time to snap a picture.
