This is a picture of my father, hence the "Dad" appellation.
Dad died in 2002 at the ripe old age of 92 and was alert and active up until the last few months. I hope to follow in his footsteps.
Chuck was my horn teacher back in the mid 1980's when he was playing in the Boston Symphony. He is a great horn player and even greater teacher. I think of Chuck every time I play my horn. Sometimes I even play like he taught me. It usually works better when I do.
My horn is named after Chuck.
They are long-time friends of mine from Connecticut and kitty people like me. In fact, I long-term kitty sat for them when they first fled to Florida. They have since returned from exile and now live in Manchester, CT.
Marvin has long been my favorite parishioner, partially because he has the same name as my dad and partially because he has such an outstanding attitude and style. Look at those eyes -- Marvin has a sense of un-self-conscious awe and wonder that we all need to learn from. He may grow up to be a Wagnerian hero and save the world.
A few minutes after I tookthis picture, Marvin showed me one of his Lion King CD-ROMs. If he would click and drag the fruit in the trees into the giraffe's mouth, it would play different songs according to the different fruits. I don't know why I was so impressed, but I was.

I played under Mr Kucinski for 7 years in the Sioux City Municipal Band. I don't really like playing in bands, but I have seldom looked forward to both rehearsals and concerts as much as I did while playing for Mr Kucinski. I learned a lot from him. Few people have influenced my life as much as he did.
