| Dodgeball: A true underdog story |
| Cast : Ben Stiller, Vince Vaughn, & Rip Torn Directed by: Rawson Marshall Thurber Plot in a Nutshell: Small underdog Gym takes part in a Dodgeball contest, aiming to win the top prize money in order to keep the next door Major Gym from taking over. Review: Ben Stiller is the over the top exaggerated moronic bully in this film. Every time he appears on screen (even without any dialogue), it will set off some chuckles or enormous laughs, poking fun at all those egoistical vain fitness fanatics. Vince Vaughn's Character is the encouraging, laidback leader that was surprisingly and effectively acted out opposite Ben Stiller's character. The pace started slow, giving some background information on the characters and plot, which I thought was quite a drag. But when it starts gearing up for the Dodgeball competition, that's when the pace picks up. Get yourself geared up for a wild ride through your funny bone! With only 2 lead actors of Hollywood Star calibers, this film is scattered with lots of Famous cameo. David Hasselhoff (Baywatch & Nightrider) Lance Armstrong (six-time Tour de France champion) William Shatner (Star Trek), Chuck Norris (Delta Force), Hank Azaria (The Simpson's). Of the entire Star Studded Cameo, Lance Armstrong's appearance was quite inspiring, Watch out for the speech that he gave in this film! Verdict: As the title implied, the one and only aim of the game is to dodge the incoming ball(s). However some of the funniest (or should I said painful?) moments lie when the actors failed to dodge the on coming projectiles. Predictable plot but if you want to have a laugh-out-loud good time, dodging this film is not an option. Stay for the end of the credits for more footage! It's well worth the wait! |
