GENERAL INFORMATION:
Assemble at 7 eleven Store at EDSA Crossing, in-front of EDSA Shangri-la Plaza. Take a regular jeepney trip to Siniloan Laguna (fare P40.00). You will be approached by tricycle drivers at Siniloan public market that will take you to jump-off point along the Infanta highway. It is better to make a necessary arrangement to the jeepney driver to drop you directly to the jump-off point (P50.00 per head is a reasonable fare).
MT. ROMELO, located at Siniloan, Laguna is a part of Sierra Madre Mountain Range. The jump-off point is located at Brgy. Tres Macatad, Famy, Laguna. Registration post is just by the trailhead, monitored by Mang Gener (son of the late Aling Esther). Registration fee is P5.00 (April 2003). Once you've shelled out bills, you can begin giving your boots some roaring action.

Start the trek which will take you about two hours up to the campsite, which is a long stretch of flat land along the river.

Mt. Romelo is known for its several waterfalls - Buruwisan, Sampaloc, Batya-batya, and Lanzones. Visit Buruwisan, the most popular because of its rapelling potential, just below the campsite. Bring your harness and equipment if that's your thing. From Buruwisan, trek upstream to Batya-Batya and Sampaloc falls or downstream to Lanzones.

Near the Buruwisan campsite stands a store run by a long-time caretaker whom climbers simply call Manong. He sells food and cold drinks. Stay overnight on the Buruwisan campsite, just look for a good area to pitch your tent.
