GENERAL INFORMATION:
From Buendia, take a bus going to Cuenca, Batangas (Lemery bound buses via Lipa). It's about 2-3 hours of travel time. Bus conductors know where you should get off (Cuenca town market). Tricycle going to the mountaineer's store awaits passengers near the town hall. Register at the Barangay Hall before going directly to the store. Registration is P5.00.
MT. MACULOT, located at Cuenca, Batangas. This mountain is considered as the practice ground for neophyte mountaineers. Famous for its rockies, it's the number one climbing destination because of its accessibility and great views of Taal Volcano. The trail up is steep due to erosion and heavy usage. Summit is about an hour away from the base camp (shoulder).
