My grand and great grand parents
Dedrick (Dick)Jenson was born July 1, 1868 in Norway.
Church records in Mo i Rana, Nordland, Norway, shows he was born in Kvitsteindalen.
in Mo i Rana to his parents Jens Christenssen and wife Ragnhild Eriksdotter.(My great grandparents)
In 1881 at age 13 he came to the United States with his father and settled in Minnesota.
Jens Christenssen filed for homestaed land in 1885 in Clay county, Minnesota.
Dedrick Jenson filed for homestead land in 1902 in Becker County, Minnesota.
Dedrick lived in Becker county, east of Detroit Lakes, Toad Lake area.
His First wife, Julia , died after never fully recovering after giving birth.
They had three children, Pete, Ed and Emma (Jenson) Davidson.
He then Married Olea Evanson, a widow with four children: Olina, Ida, Emma and Oscar.
Dick and Olea are the parents of five more children,
Simon, Marie (Jenson) Fischer, Dan, Hilda (Jenson) Miley and Olga (Tuts) Jenson  Loose.
Upon leaving Minnesota The Jenson family moved to New Home , North Dakota, which is about eleven
mile north and about two miles west of Woodworth. In 1918 they moved to Woodworth.
Dick and son, Simon, were blacksmiths. They sharpened thousands of plow lays and
knew the soil of every farm within 10 miles in any direction. They shoed horses,
rebuilt wagon wheels and welded metal before the electric welder ever existed.
