How did we get here: Science vs Religion (The truth is out there).
For centuries mandkind has been asking the question "How did we come into being, and to what purpose are we here?"    Though this question has been plagueing our hearts, minds and thoughts, it, to this day, yet to be answered.    There have been lots of theories and speculations on the subject, but all of them are yet to be proven.
Science has given us facts through statistics and archiological evidence, trying to answer this from its point of view.    While at the same time, religion gives us its point of view by showing us facts in the text written in their ancient religous books.    The question is which is the truth?    Is science correct with its statistics and theorys?    Or is religion correct in its holy writings?    For the answer to that, we have to dig deeper than the skin deep layer of facts, statistics, writings and findings, to the truth.
Science has given us many theories ranging from the Big-Bang theory (which says all life just started suddenly when a cosmic force in the galaxy just went "boom"), to Darwins theory of evelution (which says we evolved from apes).    Perhaps another well known one is the theory that says that native americans migrated from asia across the Bearing Straight land bridge.    This theory also says that they moved in family groups of hunter-gatherers, following herds of Bison, over thousands of years.    All of these theories were proven through evidence found by archiology, astronomy and just plain scientific work.    Those theories though still don't answer the question of "Why are we here?"    Are we here just to move around constantly?    Are we here to evolve into some other, more intelligent, being?    Are we here simply because of some collosal galaxy hiccup?
Religion has its own views.    Religion says God created the world and all the creatures on it.    It tells us He created Adam (the early man) in His image, to work the fields and land of the garden of eden (paradise).    God realizes man can't live alone, so He makes Adam fall asleep and takes a rib from him to make Eve (the early woman and Adam's wife).    He tells them not to eat from the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but they do.    Thus God punishes them and kicks them out of eden, to the earth we know as our home.    This theory is proven through writings found in the ancient book of the Bible.    This theory also tells us a little about why we are here to attend to the fields, and to worship God.    Is this true though?
Though different in nature and reason, both the scientific aspect and the religous aspect have some similarities.    They both suggest we are here for some purpose.    Only neithe one tells us what that purpose is Specifically.    They both tell us that there was another force, or power, involved in our creation.    A power we have no control over.    Somrthing that created us and drives us to strive to live.
Thus, the question is: Which is true?    Which point of view is correct?    Are they both right, since they are somewhat similar?    Or are thoes similarities just part of a bigger truth that we're barely scratching the surface of?    Should we look at other points of view and look for similarities?
All these questions seem to do is form more questions.    More questions that are unanswered.    So why strive for it?    Why is it so hard to understand our beginning?    Perhaps we're not supposed to know the truth.    Maybe we're just supposed to strive for that truth.    Perhaps if we knew the truth, we'd have nothing to strive for, and thus, have no reason to live.
Who knows, this may just be one of thoes unsolvable mysteries of the universe.
