| This page is dedicated to my single board computer which has an 8088 processor. The interesting thing about this computer is that I built it chip by chip. I used a wire wrap tool to connect each chip individually according to a schematic. After almost one thousand connections it was complete. When tested the first time, it worked perfectly. The computer can print, read input, display numbers, and do almost anything that a regular computer of its speed can do. After completion I used my 8088 in my Advanced Microcomputers class. I wrote programs using assembly language and download them to the 8088 from a larger computer. My last project with it required learning how to wire and write the software for hard-wired interrupts and incorporating DMA. |
