| Aule the smith who created the mountains and Dwarves. He is the master of all crafts and the deviser of gemstones and metals, his name is Mahal the maker in Dwarvish. Aule was the tutor of the Nodorin Elves who first cut the gemstones and buit towers and cities. His mansions were cut deep into the roots of Valinor where he was visited by the Elves and Dwarves, the most greatest of his works was when he shaped Arda. Deeper still than the mansions of Aule are the halls of Mandos keeper of the dead or known as Namo the speaker of doom. Mandos is the only Ainur that is aware of the will of Iluvatar, he is unmoved by pity for he knows all of the fates that were declared in the music On the Western shore lives Nienna the weeper and sister of Mandos. She is cloaked woman full of mourning but she does not despair even though it is her domain. Tears are flowing from her eyes endlessly, her house overlooks the wall of night, instead she is pity and mournful that brings endurence beyond hope. So it was the tears of Nienna and the skill of Yavanna that created Isil the fruit of the moon and Anar the flower of the sun. In the southern end of Valinor are the woods of Orome the tamer of beasts and the huntsman resides. All of the horsemen love him as do all who love hunting and herdsmen and foresters. Orome is fearsum when hunting and his wrath in battle is dreadful. With his spear and bow and his trusty steep Nahar he rides into the forests, his steep is white and silver with golden hooves. When he blows his horn Valaroma all evil creatures of the forest flee before him. Now these eight Valar are called the Aratar the mightiest of the powers but there are seven more Valar but one fell into evil ways! |
