Family: Evening-Primrose (Onagraceae)

A bushy, large-flowered, magenta willow-herb, differing from Fireweed in hairy aspect, more deeply notched petals, and sharply toothed leaves. Leaves mostly paired, sessile. Pistil with 4-branched stigma, as in Fireweed. Note long assending seedpods.

Height: 3-6 feet

Found: Streamsides, ditches and waste places.

Blooms: July-September
