Common Milkweed
Asclepias syriaca

Family: Milkweed (Asclepiadaceae)

A stout, downy plant. The domed, often somewhat drooping flower clusters are mostly in leaf axis and very in subtle shades of dusty rose, lavender and dull brownish purple. The pointed grey-green seedpods can be told from those of our other milkweeds by their warty aspect.

Height: 3-5 feet

Found: Roadsides, dry soil and fields.

Blooms: June-August
