Blunt-leaved Milkweed
Asclepias amplexicaulis

Family: Milkweed (Asclepiadaceae)

Note the unique flower structure, long pointed seedpods, and thick milky juice of broken stems or leaves.

The wavy leaves with their deeply clasping bases are diagnostic. Flowers greenish stained with magneta-purple. Seedpods longer, more slender than Common Milkweed; plant smooth.

Height: 2-3 feet

Found: Dry soil and open places.

Blooms: May-July
