Englemann's Arrowhead
Sagittaria englemanniana
Family: Arrowhead (Sagittaria)
Three roundish petals and the arrangement of the flowers in whorls of three are characteristic of the genus Sagittaria. There is much variation in the leaf form from broadly arrowhead-shape to lance-like or grasslike (sometimes within the same species). Englemanniana is simular to narrower leaved forms of S. latifolia but fewer stamens.
Found: Ponds and shallow water.
Blooms: July-October
