The familiar floating yellow water-lily of the Northeast. The globular yellow flowers are made up of fleshy sepals; the stamen-like petal are concealed. Note the disklike stigma in the center. Leaves with rounded basil lobes, narrow notch.

Found: Ponds and sluggish water

Blooms: May-September
