Family: Sagittaria

The 3 roundish petals and the arrangement of the flowers in whorls of 3 are characteristic of the genus Sagittaria. There is much variation in leaf form from broadly arrowhead-shaped to grasslike or lance-like ( Sometimes within the same species ). This is the most common species, it's arrow-shaped leaves varying greatly in width.

Found: Pond edges and shallow water

Blooms: July-October
