Wild Poinsettia or Painted-leaf
Poinsettia cyathophura

Family: Spurge (Euphorbiaceae)

Description: Glabrous annual to 3 feet tall or more. Stems solitary, greenish. Sap milky. Lower branches opposite, upper ones alternate. Leaves opposite, thin,linear to fiddle-shaped. Upper bracts with red blotches at the base. Flowers small, greenish. Petals absent. Stamen 1. Capsule 3-lobed.

Blooms: January to December

Found: Roadsides , hammocks and coastal sites.
