Poinsettia pinetorum
Family: Spruge (Euphorbiaceae)
Description: Herbacceous perennial with smooth stems to about 2 feet tall. The alternate, very narrow leaves range from 2-6 inches long and only 1/4 inch wide or less. The uppermost leaves are usually red at the base. Insignificant, 5-petaled yellowish flowers are in clusters at the tip of the branches All parts of the plant exude milky sap when broken.

Found: Endemic to pine rockland habitat of southern Florida.
Comment: This species is listed as endagered. The sap of this and other poinsettias will cause intense burning of the eyes or mouth and is very toxic if eaten.
