Family: Mallow (Malvaceae)

Description: Semi-woody perennial from 1-9 inches tall With palmate, 7-veined, alternate leaves averaging 1 1/2 to 4 inches long and 1-4 inches wide. Leaf shape varies from broadly ovate to suborbicular with shallow lobes and serrate margins. The upper surface rough to the touch. The 5-petaled, 1/2 inch axillary flowers are pink, with darker base.The 1/4 inch fruit stick to hair and clothing.

Found: Swamps, upland forests, pinelands and distubed sites. Native to eastern India.

Blooms: All year
