Blue Mistflower

Conoclinium coelestinum

Family: Aster (Asteraceae)

Description: Soft, misty, lavender-blue flower heads occur atop the long, slender stems of this 1-3 ft. perennial. The arrow-shaped leaves occur in pairs.

Found: Wood margins; stream banks; low woods; wet meadows; ditches

Blooms: August to October

Note: Mistflower spreads quickly and can become a pest.
