This really is going to be harder than Peach Week... Just 24 hours in and it feels like 72!  BUT! We've got a Breville out back... slap a load of rice in and hey presto, a rice cake pops out.  A bit too early to be experimenting perhaps, but I'm still on Basmati rice, and the lack of taste is getting to me... Whole grain tomorrow I think.  A few more donations would spur me on that's for sure ;)

Good effort with the cash-o-meter Eric, but where are your comedy posts?  Jake? Are you alive?!?!?

Thanks for the tip, Eric... Who'd have thought Basmati could make me feel so shite.  A dose of American long grain and things are looking up. :)  Welcome Jake! Good to have you aboard at last.  I'm so jealous you have a rice maker.  I have a pan.

Reasons why Battenberg week would have been more fun:

1.  I like battenburg.
2.  I may have turned pink and yellow.
3.  Its light and fluffy.

Not ideal... I don't think I quite recovered from the Day 0 excesses.  And I still have a hangover... is this even possible?!?!  Breaking new medical ground as usual... Time for bed now, but not without controversy.  Not sure what to make of Jake's use of contraband substance... oil.  I'm going to stick with the original rice and water unless i start blacking out...

Other news... Donut Week 2008!!! Put it in your diaries now :) Ok, don't.  Rice is just so f&*�ing boring!  At least sliced value peaches are a ridiculous fruit, with taste.  I can tell you right now, that i will not just be living off rice during my Alpine travels, no sir-eeee.  Muffins, now there's a handy meal.  Just four that I ate during a particularly intense revision, Day -20 or so, had enough calories for 2!! whole!! days!!, or 1.5kg of rice!  That's a whole lot a fat, and they weren't even big ones, or double chocolate, but they were very very very moist... *drool* muuuuuffffiiiiin...

Finally the hangover has gone, thanks no doubt to the copious quanty of brown rice I've eaten/still eating today.  My cravings have certain plateaued as I have come to accept the little buggers... You may have noticed that I, unlike Eric and Jake, have not weighed myself... Thought it might scare me into quitting.  2 days of not eating 1kg a day (more like 1/2kg) left me a few pounds lighter thats for sure... I simply can't believe people who diet and claim they can't loose weight... how do they manage it?!? Just eat rice!!  Even for just one day a week.

Tom cooked an extremely great smelling dinner... I pretended that the smell was coming from my rice... nuf said.

Combo food-beverage suggestions to get you started:
Pork pies & Special brew... Donuts & Tomato juice... Pizza & Horlicks... Battenburg & (proper) rice milk... baked beans & champagne...
