I have been lifting weights since elementary school and took my lifting very seriously through high school and college. With all of those years of lifting I never made real progress until 2003 in Okinawa, Japan when I read and completed the IronMind Super Squats routine. I returned to the United States and settled in San Diego in July of 2004. Upon my arrival I began searching for an “odd objects gym,” in order to break the monotony of weight training. One day I was exploring Balboa Park and came upon the House of Scotland and saw their challenge caber. I inquired where someone would train for throwing cabers and Daniel McGruer told me about “Bull” Bullock’s Blacksheep. It was an agonizing two weeks before I finally met the Bullyman, and I have been training and competing ever since.
