Fifth Element: Empowerment of Women thru Hip Hop
The FIFTH ELEMENT, a collective of writers, emcees, b-girls, and activists, seeks to create space to support the creative expression of women in hiphop. Producing respectful, positive events that provide a venue for young women's contributions to the elements of hip hop.Fifth EL, also provides workshops on the elements of hip hop lead by women and open to any youth in the community. Through breakdancing, deejaing, rhyming, and writing, young women and men learn to articulate their struggles as a means of empowerment and creative expression.
