Rica: DUO is my favorite character! I mean, just look at him! He's so cute!!!
Bunny: Yeah, the guy's a hunk, but is he gay or what?
Rica: Naturally...
Bunny: What?! I thought he was straight!
Rica: Well, I'm a firm believer that he isn't. I mean, yeah, he could be straight, but who knows? The people who created Gundam Wing didn't really say whether two characters liked each other, or if they were straight, or gay, or whatever. That's what is so cool about GW, and Duo. There's so many different possibilities for the characters. It's up to the fans to decide on their own account.
Bunny: Could he at least be bi?

Why we like/hate him:
*How can I put this... Duo is irresistably cool. There's just no way to explain the feeling I have everytime I see him in manga, or in the anime. His character is so fun and giddy, yet he holds back so much pain. That's why I can relate to him. Not only because he's American and well, I'm American, but because he's so complex and I think he's halarious. The thing I like about Duo is that he seems to be his "best" or his funniest when he's around other characters (especially characters that are complete opposites of him). He himself tries to make the world brighter, and I find that really brave for a guy his age. Plus...you'd think a God Of Death would be more depressing... Duo is just incredibly different, and that's what I love about him.

*Now Duo isn't all fun and games! He has his bad points too. Duo has a nasty temper, that causes him to sometimes explode! And some times he doesn't take things too seriously. But, all in all, he has to have flaws. A flaw-less character is unrealistic, and brings nothing to the story. Oh, and the whole thing about his voice in the subbed version...I like his voice. I think his voice which attracted me to him.
*Duo and Heero are complete opposites. Duo is the more friendly, sociable one, while Heero is the dark, work aholic who can't or just won't find the time to live his life and make friends. The reason why I think Duo and Heero make a good couple is that they give each other what they both are missing. Heero needs that lighter, comical side to his life, and Duo needs something reliable and firm. Someone who'll watch over him and treat him like the man he tries to be. Heero and

Duo can relate to each other, even though they are so different and complex. That's why their relationship would be something special, something that would most defiantly last. Besides...how interesting can Heero/Relena or Duo/Hilde can be? Not very.

*Like I said before, who knows whether Duo is gay or not. In the manga, it really does look like him and Heero have feelings for each other, but in the anime, I don't know. That's up for the fans to decide, so I'm not DECLARING Duo and Heero are Yaoi based, but it's what I believe.
