| William Spanswick was born on the 24th May 1801 in Easton Royal, Wiltshire, to Thomas Spanswick and Phyllis Smart. Easton Royal is described in the Imperial Gazetteer of England and Wales as "a parish in Pewsey district, Wiltshire, near theo Kennet and Avon Canal and the Berks and Hants railway, 3 1/4 miles E of Pewsey railway station and 6 1/4 S by E of Marlborough" As you can see from the photo below it is a picturesque town. William married Harriet West on the 22nd October 1821 in Easton Royal, Wiltshire. Their children were: David Spanswick b 3rd March 1822 Lucy Spanswick b 21st March 1824 d 27th Spril 1843 Elizabeth Spanswick b 11th June 1826 married Richard Warner 1853 died 1908 Buckinghamshire Richard Spanswick (my line) (convict) Emma Spanswick b 5th October1828 Thomas Spanswick b 29th August 1830 Ann Spanswick b 17th June 1832 Ellen Spanswick b 5th April 1835 If you come from any of these lines please contact me, I would love to hear from you. |
