Opening Weekend of
        "The Lion, The Witch and
                     the Wardrobe"
Right: Opening night of LWW, Kari, Lauren and I dress up as a Nyad and Dryads for the first show.  Costumes were created by us using sheets purchased from the Salvation Army and accessories purchased from Hobby Lobby.  On the way to the theater, we stopped by Dr. Markos' and Jennifer took our picture in front of his cardboard wardrobe.

These costumes are our own inventions and we broke no copyright or other legal laws concerning the appearance and dress of Nyads and Dryads.  Personally, I think we were closer to C.S. Lewis' intention than the movie regarding Dryadic appearance.  ;-)
Left: LWW Take Two!  Saturday morning of the opening weekend I went to the movie again with my friends Lisa and Jennifer.  Here, Lisa decided to adorn herself in the apparell of a Nyad and Jennifer decided to dress as Queen Susan (since she already had the dress).  I, of course, returned to the theater as a Dryad.

I decided that before the next movie comes out, I'm going to sew some Nyad and Dryad costumes so we'll have outfits that fit better.  Other good reasons to sew costumes include: we'll no longer look fat in Narnian garb, we won't have to worry about getting stuck with the safety pins holding the costumes together, and it will make things easier when certain members of our party need to visit the ladies' room.  ;-)
