| Happy Thanksgiving and Merry Christmas! :-) This is my last full day at home before I return to school. My vacation has been... interesting, so say the least. I came home late on the 18th, spent the weekend with my family, got my hair done and my ears pierced on Monday (God bless Amanda for going with me to do that last!), and spent some time with Taylor on Tuesday, then promptly got sick on Wednesday morning. o_O I've been battling a horrible cold ever since. I'm feeling loads better today, and bored out of my mind, but I'm afraid to leave the house lest I get worse. ^_^ Life. . . . Last weekend my family and I went to see "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" in theaters. The book is so fascinating, that I thought it would make a wonderful movie. However, they cut out some very important information and put in unneccessary fluff. In short, I was extremely disappointed. Mom and I got in an arguement after the movie because I (foolishly) continued to complain about the movie and Mom's opinion was that of course they couldn't make a two hour movie about an entire book, and so they had to cut some stuff out. I understand that, but I think they cut out the wrong stuff. Honestly, I walked out of the theater in absolute horror that any author could allow her work to be butchered like that. {sigh} I'll get over it, eventually. When I went in for my hair appointment on Monday, I told the stylist that I wanted my hair to be a little bit darker (as you can see in the photo above, it was really blonde... I didn't realize how blonde until I saw these proofs), so I suggested a few low lights. And as for the cut, I told him I just wanted a trim. I liked the style I had, and just needed the ends trimmed a bit. Anyway. My experience that day wasn't quite as I expected. For one thing, the stylist kept invading my personal space, which made me really uncomfortable. Secondly, when he took out the paper separaters, he pulled my hair really hard. Third, he gave me a hot oil treatment without asking me if I wanted one, and didn't tell me what he did until after it was done. Finally, he gave me a completely new hair style. :-p It looks good, but it's not what I wanted. My old style was so easy, but this one requires work. At least the color came out good. However, I'm not going back to that stylist. After I got my hair done (and Amanda and I took a detour to her house), I went to get a second hole punched into each of my ears. I know that sounds really... blunt, but it's really what they did! Amanda was a good friend and held my hand during the piercing. Of course, she also laughed at my fear, but oh, well. ;-) Tuesday night Taylor spent the night at my house. We spent the majority of the time trying to pick out a movie to watch. It was sad. :-( We went to Blockbuster and picked out an old Kirsten Dunst movie, only to get home and discover that it really wasn't worth watching. This makes two bad movies in a row that we checked out! We finally stopped it half-way through, and began looking through the movies my family owns. Then John said he thought Blockbuster was open until 1 a.m. It was about 10 till 11, so I changed from my pajamas into something more suitable and Taylor and I dashed out the door. We got to Blockbuster at 11:05 and found that they closed at 11. :-( Talk about disappointment. Nothing of consequence happened Wednesday through Friday, as I was sick and didn't go anywhere or see anyone. I was sick on Saturday, too, but my family went to cut down our Christmas tree that day, and since that's tradition, I went with them. It took me several hours to warm up after we got home, which was really sad, because it really wasn't very cold outside. Now I'm panicking because I didn't get everything done I hoped to do before going back to school. I don't have any homework, but I wanted to study for my history exit exam, since I have to take that this quarter, and I desperately need to complete my application for admission to Indiana University. I think I'm going to get to work on that right now, actually. Hopefully I'll get to the exit exam later. . . . |
