| Today is Australia Day. I don't know what that means, but apparently it was important enough to put on my calendar, so I thought I'd share the information. Happy Australia Day! :-D Just try not to put on any accents - you may end up annoying the people around you. ;-) So far, 2006 has been keeping me super busy... it's so weird to realize it's almost the end of January. I was looking at the spring calendar at work today, to update next quarter's syllabus for my boss, and was shocked to learn that April and May are creeping up on us. They seem so far away, but I knew, as I typed in assignment due dates, that I'll blink and suddenly they'll be here. I really wish time would slow down sometimes. It seems to pick up whenever I have a ton of stuff to do, yet when I'm sitting in class (depending on the class, I grant you) it seems to drag by... Personally, I'd prefer to have the time slow down when I have a ton to do, so I can accomplish more, but such is life. God knows what He's doing. :-) I have a paraphrase of Augustine's Homilies on First John and a 15-minute presentation due Jan. 31. Speaking of the 31st, that's my sister's 21st birthday, so, HAPPY BIRTHDAY JESSICA! (Are you sufficiently embarrassed now? Or shall I try again? ;-)) I also need to finish my research paper for my history class so I can work on my research paper for my philosophy class (and I know that one is going to need a lot of work). But, enough about school. It bores you and I get enough of it without talking about it on my web site. ;-) I've waited until now to bring this up because A) I wanted to make sure you cared enough about me to read up to this point, and B) I wasn't sure how to bring it up... anyway. Good news! The biggest thing that's "happened" to me since 2006 began is that I gained a boyfriend. :-) Surprise! His name is Shane Lakey, he's 27, he graduated from HBU in 2001, he works with media at the Mariott and is a part-time youth pastor, and he intends to further his education and go into full-time ministry. AND he's absolutely wonderful. :-) I've posted his picture on my friends and family photo page, so you can see him. In addition to being incredibly attractive as a Christian and in personality, he's also extremely good-looking. ;-) I'm meeting with my adviser to get approved for registration tomorrow. I'm expecting to take Astronomy, Modern Japan, 18th Century Europe to the Present, and my final Christianity Senior Seminar. My class schedule next quarter is going to be whack, and I don't have a clue when I'm going to be able to work, since my bosses teach when I have free time. ^_^ I know it doesn't matter to one boss, but the other boss seems to prefer my being there when he is. Anyway. Oh! I sent in my application to Indiana University for their MLS program at the beginning of the month. It was due on the 15th, and I'm really nervous about whether or not I get in. So, any prayers on my behalf would be greatly appreciated. Please pray for calmness on my part whenever I think about it, and... {sigh} I really wish I could say it would be okay if God didn't want me to go there, and, in truth, if I don't get in, then I'll have to be okay with it. However, I reallyreallyREALLY want to go to Indiana U. for grad school... :-/ I guess you could pray that God's will will be done and that I'll be willing to follow His will, no matter what happens. Please and thank you. :-) Aw... I don't have any pictures of Nick and Sarah on this site, do I? I'll have to take care of that next time I go home. I miss the munchkins... Mom tells me stories about what they're doing and saying, and it's absolutely hilarious. Anyway. I need to get started on my paraphrase (well, not really started, I've already "started" working on it, I mean I need to get to work on finishing it. :-)). I'll see you later! Thanks for thinking about me and praying for me! |
