The Wedding of Jean Youmbi Fotso and Kristin Snyder

Our wedding was just wonderful!! I wanted to give you a taste of what it was like.

Saturday morning there was a beautiful drizzle that Jean and I enjoyed watching. Holly, my sister and Scott, her husband, came around 1 pm and she did my hair and we fixed the little bouquets. Got to church a little ahead of time to put the rosebuds and baby's breath in my hair and take some pictures. The drizzle ended just before we started walking down the path. It was under a type of shelter/gazebo at the church. Harrison, my stepdad, sort of talked most of the walk way (probably nerves). The ceremony was only 25 minutes from the walk down to the return walk. Jean and I made our own vows and said them in English and French (which I might put on the net someday when I've mailed Immigration in).

Tammy, James, Marik and bro, Ashley, Christa, and Roy were all there. We had snack foods afterwards with orange juice punch and water (no alcohol). Food included rice, risolo (rice with junk added--Camerounian), potatoes and meat (Camerounian), piment, then lots of veggies and dips and other American stuff. People really liked the Camerounian foods! The PCVs gave us a honeymoon night at Holiday Inn in Old Town Alexandria. Awesome the next morning just walking around on the Potomac with everyone (Sunday was a beautiful day). Returned home to a living room of presents to open. Many practical, some not.

That's about the extent. Jean and I surprisingly didn't have any tiffs during the weekend--did we forget or something??

So now I have a little gold ring and Jean's got a much larger version of it (3.5 and 11 quite a difference!)
