Transportation au Gabon
Our fearless and shoeless leader, Jeff, repairing the inevitable blowout (poor Bessy!) somewhere outside Lambarene.
Just before the YEARLY road repair by the oh-so-capable good ol' government of Gabon, I filmed un occasion (pickup) being pushed out of the mud by its paying customers.  They were in the way of my walk home and I wasn't feeling generous nor muddy enough to help that day.
And...THIS is how OUR government chooses to send us volunteers!!  After Jake's fete (party) for the finishing of his school construction project in Diyenga.
If you aren't lucky enough to get a covered pickup, you might end up on the back of a sand truck.  Those declines can be awefully nerve-racking anytime, but especially on slippery surfaces--which always seems to be the case in a rainforest.
