They ought to stop planting thoughts of white knights and prince charmings into the heads of little girls. More often than not it only aides in later self destruction. When they take the boys aside in the fifth grade, what are they telling them? We'll just be sitting there, playing in the mud and talking about the coolest new toys, and they come and round up all the boys and take them away for about a half hour, then send them back out as jerks. It's no wonder we had to start a hunk farm, we had to undo all the damage. Some aren't so bad, but some are gonna definitely need the cattle prods. But some weren't listening when they were taken aside. There are some white knights and prince charmings and instructors for the hunk farm. Some your friends don't have to threaten. Some are nearly perfect. Well, nobody's perfect, but you can accept them for all their strengths and weaknesses, and they can accept you for yours. That's not settling. Settling would be continuing to look for perfection, realizing it doesn't exist, and spending the rest of your life watching reruns alone. No, it's not settling, and it's not compromise either. It's love, plain and simple. It's when you know that nothing and no one will ever keep you apart. It's even if you don't stay together you'll always be good, close friends. That's Imzadi. That's what I was trying to say.

And how much does it really matter where they're found? The News does like to emphasize the horror, that's what sells. All you hear is how some girl went to go meet her internet lover and was found in a dumpster missing a couple of limbs. You never hear of the times when someone is talked out of suicide, or when a room will get cyber drunk because one of the regulars got married in RL. The News will never tell you about the trout fights. The News will never show you the ASCII roses. They can't translate *ROTFLMAO*. All they do is insist that you're only staring at your screen, and electricity cannot carry real emotions. You want to scream at them, BULLSHIT!, but they won't hear it. It can't be understood until you're experiencing it. You're best friend may live down the block or in another country. You still hurt when they're hurting, you're still happy for them when they're ecstatic. Nothing and no one can stop two hearts from conquering the globe if they're determined enough.

So now that I've completely diverged from my intended subject...whatever that was...

For those of you reading this who don't know Rent like you breathe, this won't make much sense. Collins and Angel, now that's a relationship. That whole, "someone to live for, unafraid to say I love you" kinda thing. That's the kind of thing people hope to have for their very own. Thing is though, many more people have a Roger/Mimi, or a Joanne/Maureen, or even a Roger/Mimi/Benny kinda thing going. It is damned hard at times to be a Collins or an Angel and watch your friends be Roger and Mimi and all them. Nothing you say is gonna help, so you just keep your mouth shut most of the time. Even if you know they're happy for you, you pray they don't resent you or anything. The trick is not to feel guilty, it only leads to more self destruction. "It can't rain all the time"...though being bohemian I wish it could ^_^. Just keep going through tunnels and tugging on wishbones and blowing out candles and saying "let it be all good for everyone", and help whenever you can.

That wasn't exactly how I was going to say that, but what the hell...I hope I don't regret this babbling thing, but hey, if you can't babble on your own paper..well, you might go insane, keeping it all in your head like that...actually, I won't regret it, cuz I don't do that...it's a special talent of mine...so if anyone's still reading this thing by now you must have either understood every word I've said, or are calling the men with the white jackets on me...either way, I'll shut up now, but with one final word, not mine, I got this from a fortune cookie...someone is speaking highly of you...=)
