Chapter 2
Right away they attacked us. I wasn't experienced at all in real life, the only experience I had was when Domdom and I played around with the virtual reality or VR simulator that we made which simulated as if you were actually piloting a real AC. But I had no choice, we would probably get sent to jail if we were captured. So I suited up in the muscle tracer suit as fast as I could and connected to the AC. I then turned on my intercom.
"Domdom lets destroy these things, you ready?"
"I'm not giving up this AC for nothing, let's go" he then began to fire his bazookas rapidly while I took the Karasawa and fired at the head of the MT. It dodged it by boosting away and so I boosted at him and took my Moonlight and slashed into its core, I didn't hit the generator so I was hoping that I could open the cockpit and force the pilot out. I then came back with another slash which tore off the armor of it. There was no pilot. It then retaliated by taking out its two arm plasma gun and firing multiple shots of plasma at my AC. I dodged it and fired my Sawa multiple times knowing that it had stopped to fire. Nothing was penetrating the armor of it, it then fired a grenade round which made my core start melting.
"Overheating by %150 forced cooling beginning" the computers voice said as I was trying to avoid another grenade shot.
"What will it take to destroy this thing!?!?" I was beginning to get frustrated, so then I did what I did in the VR simulation. I started the over boost sequence of the Ray core to over boost at almost 700 mph, I took my Karasawa and fired directly in the hole I made while slashing and watched it burn up as I stopped and turned around. I felt an immense feeling of satisfaction knowing that I survived an attack in an AC which I've never piloted before.
"Domdom how are you doing there?" I heard nothing. "Domdom, are you ok!?!?" Still no response. "Computer check the status of Domdom's AC." I had forgotten about him. He was pretty good at the VR simulation I don't know how he could've gotten beaten like that.
"The ally AC's armor is completely destroyed."
"Is Domdom ok???"
"There are no vital signs in the AC." Damn...This can't be good. I kneeled down the AC and got out to check out what happened to him. I ran up to his AC, just like the computer said his armor was severely damaged. I opened the cockpit and looked inside. There was no body and no sign of him getting shot, no blood or anything else. I decided to go and see what happened by checking his computers memory files.
"Computer show the video of the recent battle."
"Identify."
"I am the pilot of the ally AC."
"Confirmed." It then started the recording of the last battle. I saw Domdom fire bazooka rounds at the MT at a rapid rate and then he started firing missiles, ("buahahahaha take that!"), then snow appeared all over the screen. The recording came back in looking at a gold and white biped AC with a machine gun that was the equivelent of a chain gun, multi missiles, hi act missiles, and a moonlight blade. There was one strange thing, it had the core i had. It raised its machine gun�the recording stopped.
"End of battle." The computer announced while I left the AC. I had to find
that AC that appeared on the recording. I got in the AC and boosted up out of the underground garage and searched for any signals on my radar. The city was completely deserted; they must've ordered an evacuation. I walked around the area until I saw the radar pick up something. I boosted towards it until it came into view.
"Computer identify enemy AC"
"AC Aasimar piloted by the A-1 rank raven Zeal" All of a sudden I was scared; I've never been so scared and intimidated in my life. I was just getting used to an AC and here I was facing the A-1 rank raven, the best raven known.
"Lets fight raven." As he said that I felt a sudden surge of confidence and I rushed towards him, blade extended, and I made a slash. He dodged it easily and retaliated with a stream of fire above me. I hid behind a building to avoid any fire. He then fired 8 missiles at once which went through the building and straight toward me for a direct hit.
"Computer what's my status."
"The frontal core armor has been completely destroyed." Damn mirage cores they have no missile defense. I decided to go head on to avoid more missile hits. I lifted my half depleted Sawa and shot at him he dodged most of my shots and then jumped up in the air. I looked on my radar, he was right above me. I looked up and I saw him over boosting towards me...all went black.
I woke on a couch in a small apartment, from the looks of it I was in one of the global cortex apartments that they used for ravens. I sat up and looked around, I saw a man sitting at the table in a long gold coat and a black shirt and pants.
"I see you're awake."
"I'm just surprised I'm not in jail. Why did you bring me here? Weren't you there to stop me?"
"Heh, I was on a mission for crest testing those two giant MTs. They found them near the newly discovered city just empty frames without a generator. They were controlled by AIs, and Crest wanted to test this technology so they added generators and all the required parts for it to start running. They sent me to watch them do their stuff and our test object was to steal those 2 ACs that you got to first. When your friend destroyed the other MT, I engaged battle with him. I knocked him out cold and so I decided to take him as I did with you."
"But why?"
"You two are pretty decent pilots. I didn't want those two ACs to go to waste and watch the company take apart them for parts.
"But we stole them..."
"Heh don't worry about it, I even took the Liberty to register you two as ravens."
"I thought you had to have 5 years MT experience? And how do you have the same core design i was using? It didn't seem like it was supposed to be released till later..."
"Well let's just say I have my connections. Your AC is waiting for you in the garage."
"Thanks well I better meet up with Domdom, and start moving from my old apartment I guess..." I had never expected this to happen, I guess I just assumed that we would be unregistered ravens working for companies that no one has ever heard of.
"And raven..."
"Yea?"
"Ill be looking forward to a battle in the arena some day."
"Ill hold you to that." I walked out of the apartment and into the hallway, heading to the lounge where all the ravens gathered. I guess I would have to start finding missions soon�
