Welcome to the Web site of Rick Abrahamson and family!

Hello my name is Rick Abrahamson and I live and work in  Omaha, NE.  I moved here in May of 2007.

I have a BS in horticulture/production-business option and a minor in business administration.  Currently, I am finishing a masters degree in soil science at North Dakota State University.

I am employed as the director of education at Lauritzen Gardens - Omaha's Botanical Center.  We are a 100 acre botanic garden that is known for its regionalism.  We hold four large festivals each year; Spring into Spring (May), Railroad Days (July), Art in Bloom (August), Antique and Garden Show (September), and Autumn Ambiance (October).  These festivals draws several thousands of guests each weekend that they take place.  In July we opened the model railroad garden which features four "G scale" trains that travel among reproduced Omaha area buildings made entirely of natural materials.  We offer many educational opportunities for children and adults.  You can view a video of Lauritzen Gardens and the model railroad garden.

I have four children who all live in Fargo, ND.  Their names and ages are Robert (22), Robin (19), Randal (12), and Raissa (10).

I enjoy outdoor activities like fishing, camping, hunting, scuba diving, and biking.  My oldest son and I attended two high adventures at the BSA's Florida Seabase.  The first trip was a scuba diving trip and the second we traveled on the sailing vessel "The Adventurer" from Islamorada to Key West and back again.  Be sure to look at some of the photos that are posted under the tab "Seabase Photos".

I hope you enjoy my little website.  Please let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions for future development of the site.
