Dennis Maberry is a percussionist focusing on teaching people how to have fun and feel comfortable playing hand drums. He has promoted his belief that music can bring about positive change through his Percussion for Peace workshops for the Heartland Peace Center. He also conducts workshops and daily drumming meditations for Heartland's Summer Peace Camp

Dennis has taught the  World Percussion class at UIS and  currently returns as a guest instructor. He also teaches classes and conducts workshops for the Lincoln Land Community College Adult Education Program.


He has conducted children's workshops for schools, libraries, and after school programs. He has extensive experience working with special needs populations and has worked with organizations such as Special Olympics, SPARC, and the Mac. County School for Developmental Disabilities.

Dennis has developed his "Rhythm is Life"   program using the  Health Rhythms protocol. Studies have demonstrated that group drumming has several beneficial health benefits including a healthier immune system and lower levels of stress. For this reason the Health Rhythms protocol is being used in a variety of health related organizations. The stress reduction benefits of the Heatlh Rhythm protocal have proven to be very useful in organizations that experience a high level of employee turnover. Dennis has recently released his new cd
