This is my site on leopard geckos. Leopard geckos are great pets to have because they are easy to take care of, and they are very friendly. On your right you can see an adult leopard gecko.

Description Leopard geckos grow to be 5-9 inches in length, and their jaw's can be quite powerful. A male's jaws are strong enough to crush a grasshopper. If they bite it will feel like a stong pinch. Leopard geckos do not have sticky feet, and their toes have nails. Leopard geckos shed every month, so when they do, spray them with a water bottle very gently. (The moisture helps them with the shedding) Leopard geckos eat their skin that they shed. Most of the time leopard geckos have skin they can't pull off. So be very careful and pull off the skin. When you are pulling the skin off, make sure you don't pull off their toe, since their toes are so fragile. You can only put one male in a tank, if you put two males they will hurt, or maybe even kill each other. You can put countless females together in a tank, as long as you have the right size tank. You can also put more than one female with one male. On your right you can see three females with one male. To tell the difference between a male and female, look at the pictures below. A male has an upside down V before his tail, and a female does not. Leopard geckos can lose their tail, and it will grow back, just a little less pretty. So do not grab their tail.
Back ground information Leoprd geckos are found in SE Afghanistan, Northern India, Pakistan, Iran, and Iraq. They live in mountains. During the day they hide under rocks and logs, In the night the hunt for prey.

Food Leopard geckos have an interesting way to show if they need more food. They store all the fat in their tails. When their tail is fat they don't need much food, but when their tail is skinny feed them quick. Leopard geckos will eat crickets, but when you get the crickets you have to gut load them before you feed them to her/him. Sprinkle some gut load on the crickets, then shake them in the bag so they get coverd. The gut load is medicine for the gecko. Another good thing to feed your gecko are meal worms. They will fatten your geckos tail up, they are great during breeding season. If you are going to feed your gecko meal worms get a dish to put them in. Get a water bowl so she can drink. Since the cage should be quite hot the water will evaporate, so make sure that her water bowl is full all the time or she will get dehydrated.
