DREAMS
Dreams.
They may be pretty or bold
warm or cold
or saved and not told
Or dreams may be mean
like nightmare machines
not to be believed
are these dreams
A dream may be
of lands across seas
or mountain top cities
valleys and dragons
fair maidens in despair
lost treasure hunting
and pirate ship riding
Or a dream may be
quite simple like mine
though I never have voiced it
to land and sea
my dream like few
is not of white cities
or dragons slaying
or undersea diving
My dream is you
And to me you will be
cherished like diamonds
or the gold to the sea
and though I don't know
how to help you see me
or how to ask you
to stay here with me
or even to get you
to laugh as you did once
I know that my dream will stay
alive long as I
do breath and live free
For though my dream
may burn and chafe
and wear at my mind
and make my heart ache
I will cherish it still
for though if you choose
with one word you can destroy me
my dream will remain true
and shall always be
held, oh so lovingly
within my arms
and my heart
eternally.
