I will show you my latest creation, not that I have alot but sometimes I get "into the mood."

I work at a consignment shop in Three Rivers, MI. The down town is having a fund-raising event that last year was called "The Rare Chair Affair" which encouraged volunteers to create a chair out of something or just decorate one in a special or unique way. For example, last year when our old bridge was being torn down to make way for a new one, the workers made a chair out of the old steel beams. All chairs created were displayed in various store windows and then auctioned off publically with proceeds going to the DownTown Development Authority to help beautify the city with planters, flowers and such.

Anyhow, this year, they are broadening the scope by calling it the "Rare Furniture Affair." I decided to get in on the action this year and so with the Red Hat Society in mind, I created my chair. I started with a broken wooden chair from a yard sale for $2. and collected items from family, friends and thrift shops. With spray paint, lace, roses, buttons, bobbles, a hat, shoes, gloves, feathers and a hot glue gun in hand, this is the results! ($15. total investment) There will be judging sometime between now (April) and next month, for what I do not know, but I did this as a creative outlet and to help the town in which I work in.

I hope it gets alot of money for them. I'll post what it sells for the end of May.

UPDATE:

THIS CHAIR AUCTIONED OFF FOR $60.00!!!
Everything is glued down tight so it will NOT move!
