| What fun we had today when we met for lunch at "Alley Oops" restaurant on the east side of Elkhart. Janet Johnson arranged the luncheon and she was expecting approxmately 12 ladies when we actually had 16 show up!!! It's been a while since we've had a good show like this. Janet was a gracious hostess and gave everyone gifts of votive candles. Reminder for everyone to call whoever is hosting the month's event so we have a better idea of how many are coming. We do not want to inconvenience the waitstaff at any restaurant. Just as important is to call and let the appropriate hostess know if you cannot make it too. Thanks. Today we had 2 new ladies join us! We met Dorothy from Plymouth and Neda from Elkhart! Ardie brought her sister, Naomi, from Lafayette who was visiting her. Naomi belongs to a chapter in her town called The Perrenials. You would not believe how much they look alike & talk alike. They were definately sisters!!! Today I sat by Linda, our Countess of Birthdays, this afternoon and got to know her much better. We discussed different things our chapter might like to do in the future. Anyone opposed to meeting on a Sunday afternoon in the future? Linda & her daughter have a neat idea she would like to put together and propose. Also...........Linda, being the Countess of Birthdays, would like the privilege to deem your birthday month as the month you can wear any color hat you want in celebration of it! Linda loves hats soooo much that she can't wait to wear her purple hat. She has a rebellious spirit, doesn't she? :) So, I figured that just 1 month out of the year, if you want to wear a different color hat - go for it! Have fun! I will allow it, BUT ONLY YOUR BIRTHDAY MONTH!!! That way, we will recognize that it IS your birthday! (yippee) |
