Saturday, June 8 - Doc Pierce's Restaurant - Mishawaka
This was a confusing day. First of all, we were to have lunch at the Rose Arbor Tea Room in Mishawka above an Antique Shop. I made this reservation months ahead of time. I was to call a week before to confirm the number of ladies showing up as the place had very limited seating. I called the Monday before to confirm and was greeted by an answering machine stating they closed May 31st and were re-opening in a new locaction June 17th. How nice of them to notify me! I, personally, will not be looking up their new loaction since they were so rude. A phone call only takes a minute and I have an answering machine, so how hard is it?
Anyhow, with the help of Princess Sondra, we made quick plans to eat arround the corner at Doc Pierrce's Restaurant. I figured we would meet everyone in front of the Antique Store and break the news about the tea room and then walk arround the corner to Doc Pierce's.
Well, lo and behold, if the Antique Store made matters worse. A few newbies and regular member showed up early and went into the Antique store where they were told our luncheon was cancelled altogether! So they left! If only I had thought to contact the Antique store ahead of time and leave the message that we would still be eating in the area..........But I can't think of everything, Ladies! I need help! (please)
Well, as it turns out 11 of us showed up for lunch with 4 newbies and 2 visitors. Besides Doc Pierce's being alittle too dark for my taste, the food selection was good and so was the food. we had a great time getting to know our new members. And the weather was picture PERFECT! |
