| Statement of COLORS |
| The Red Hat Society brings women together and part of our unity is wearing RED HATS on our heads and wearing PURPLE outfits. These are the 2 requirements based upon the poem of which the Red Hat Society was founded - "When I Am an Old Woman" * OUR HAT COLOR WILL ALWAYS BE RED for ladies 50 yrs. and older (PINK hats for ladies under 50) Hats are to be worn on your head and not carried in or taken off. I know you have hat hair. So do I. We all do. WE can have hat hair together. RED hats are to be worn on our heads.....that is why we are called, ~ THE RED HAT SOCIETY ~ * Our Clothing Colors will always be PURPLE, PURPLE, PURPLE. (if a lady is under 50 ~ she should actually wear Lavender) Other colors may be worn as accent colors but purple is to be predominant, especially at the top. (blouses, jackets, shirts). There are absolutely no substitutions! (No purple hats, no white hats, no natural color hats.....) The ONLY exception is the reverse of colors in celebration of your birthday in that same month - you may at this one time wear a purple hat with a red outfit. Please know that my request is a very simple one. If you are unhappy with RHS colors ~ perhaps you may wish to rethink why you have joined the RHS.
