Autobody Repairer
Thousands of motor vehicles are damaged in traffic accidents every day. Others are damaged by rust, misuse and other causes. An autobody repairer’s job is to fix the damage by straightening bent frames,
removing dents and replacing crumpled parts. Most repairers work with cars and small trucks, although some work on other vehicles, such as buses and tractor-trailers. Certified repairers usually earn between $15 and $20 an hour. Experienced, successful ones can earn up to $45,000 a year. In some provinces, you must be certified to work as an autobody repairer.
Heavy Equipment Operator
Heavy equipment operators use huge machinery to lift, haul, push, roll and move earth and materials. Most heavy equipment operators use large earth-moving machines, such as bulldozers, backhoes, excavators and front-end loaders. During the construction of a building or home, they dig a hole for the foundation. For new subdivisions, they flatten large areas of land by pushing or removing large quantities of earth. You start at 30 000 a year and then you build experience and seniority and then you can afford 90 000 a year.
