S.6 A-LEVEL CHEMISTRY PROJECT

Objectives

  1. To train the students to acquire the ability of collecting information from various sources.
  2. To train the students to know how to select and extract relevant material from a vast sources of information.
  3. To train the students the skill of organizing and presenting information in a logical, hierarchical and impressive way.
  4. To encourage the students to get acquainted with the use of audio-visual equipment and information technologies.
  5. To serve as one of the ways to assess the students abilities.

Requirements

  1. Each student has to select a topic in the present A-level Chemistry syllabus.
  2. He/She has to collect information from various sources such as books, journals, magazines, Computer CD-ROMs, and Internet etc.
  3. Student's original writing and personal opinion must be included.
  4. He/She is then required to present his/her script in front of other classmates and teachers. The presentation may take the form of lecture supported with audio-visual equipment. Length of presentation should be 10-15 minutes.
  5. A copy of the script, either in hard or soft copy, should be submitted to the teacher.
