RHPS DOCUMENTARY IN PRODUCTION
from Mark Tomaino <[email protected]>
A Regular Frankie Fan by Majick films, a full length movie documentary about RHPS and the fan-nomenon, is being recut and Barry Bostwick has tentatively committed to shoot hosting footage for it. They were at the NuArt this January filming some pick up shots. They are in negotiations with several TV stations for broadcast rights, but you will be able to see a special screening at the Midnight Insanity convention in June.
?Regular Frankie Fan? is listed on the Internet Movie Database (though it lists the release date as 2000), where you can read comments of people who?ve seen the film. Casts featured include Sins O? The Flesh, Midnight Insanity, Barely Legal, Wild and Untamed Things, and Rocky?s Whores.
1977 NORWEGIAN CAST CD IN THE
WORKS
from Crazed Imaginations
Arve Sigvaldsen, the producer of the original Norwegian cast, and the producer of the original 1977 Norwegian cast album , says that the album will be released on CD. He says, ?The album will be released on CD by Universal within the coming months.? Good news for fans who have desperately sought to add this rare gem to their collection.
BROADWAY ROCKY HORROR UPDATES
from Crazed Imaginations
The cast has recorded a soundtrack album. (Scoop from Bruce Cutter.) No details yet on when it will be released?you're going to want this one; this cast can SING.
Also, a little bird told us that a is planned of the show. No dates or locations have been announced; all we know is that they pulled the rights in Northridge, CA since the tour is supposed to hit LA?Jessica Bram (formerly with Sins O' The Flesh) is working at a booking agency in New York that is handling Rocky?so hopefully we will know more soon. Our sources tell us the proposed tour will start sometime in the fall, in Boston, and will retain some of the names from the Broadway version.
VITAL TOYS DELAYS 2ND WAVE OF
ROCKY FIGURES
from Bruce
Cutter via Crazed
Imaginations
"The guy at Vital Toys that I deal with said they
will be doing more Rocky Horror action figures but they won't be ready
until next summer at the earliest. Probably closer to next fall/Christmas.
They (Vital Toys) haven't decided which characters they are going to create
but they think they will be doing a space suit Riff Raff and Magenta set.
They are still considering what other characters. He said they might do
Janet with her ripped slip and Frank with his bloody apron. If I hear anything
else, I will let you know."

SCENE UPDATE

Through hell-fire, brimstone, and a 6.8 shaker,
here's the Tacoma report! Shows are still every Saturday at midnight,
with the entry fee being a mere 5 bucks. (text deleted at the request of the Blue Mouse management) Enjoy the
musical theme nights! Orally pleasure the cast director! er.....um....sorry,
got a little carried away there! And I regret to announce that Andie
"Pixie" Whitley has retired from active duty in the Cast Formerly Known
as the T-Town Trannies, as she has taken a job up in Redmond. Boo,
reality! The role of Magenta will be played by Tonya, our new victim....er...fresh
meat....er...you get the picture!

SCENE UPDATE
by Kelly McKivor <[email protected]>
The VTC had a bit of an upset. The November
and January shows were cancelled, the management suddenly made themselves
unavailable, and there was an article in the Seattle Times in December
about how the admiral theatre might close its doors indefinitely.
We're glad to report that we're back to our regular schedule as of February,
but we're on our toes and
ready to move again if need be. Losing
the Admiral would be a shame, since there aren't many theatres that can
and will allow for the storage of our large props.
The VTC has been invited back to perform at NorwesCon
24, the largest annual science fiction convention in the northwest, on
April 13. This time, the Trannies will accompany them. And
speaking of the Trannies, the VTC Trannies celebrated their 2nd anniversary
in January. They're SO AWESOME!!! Some of them have fan webpages
up: see thezenroom.com contacts
and links page...

A SCENE UPDATE
by Patrick McMahon <[email protected]>
Rocky Horror is still alive and kicking in Bremerton. We had a little scare when our theatre, The Charleston Cinema, said they were going to close for the season. They are going to become a sesonal theatre, showing second run movies from May through the end of October. The theare loves us, which is great. So they are still going to open the theatre just for Rocky during their seasonal closure. We are bringing in a big crowd every month and all of us Cherry Poppers, want to thank the Charleston fans for doing this.
So we will be continuing having our show usually the 2nd weeeknd of the month (except April). So our next shows will be March 9th & 10th, April 20th & 21st and May 11th & 12th.
We will also be relaunching our website.
It will be at the same address http://www.rockycast.net/cherrypoppers
but it will be more up to date. We will have pictures from the January
& February shows posted. We will also have pictures from the
December shows were the cast from Portland and Kelly and the VTC Trannies
performed. Again the Cherry Poppers want to thank all the people
from Portland and Seattle for such a great show.

RICH WEIRDOS LEAVE VARSITY THEATRE
by Kelvin Hoyle <[email protected]>
Due to, well, we really don't know what; The Rich
Weirdos will no longer be playing at The Varsity Theatre. One of
the cast's regular audience members noticed that the theatre had a notice
up that the show on January 26th, 2001 was cancelled. However, none
of the cast had received a phone call, email, or communication from the
theatre management stating this. A couple cast members then called
the theatre and confirmed that the theatre had indeed cancelled the show.
After speaking to management, Cast Director Robyn Bayles found that management
hadn't even made an effort to contact the cast concerning this. Therefore,
both Robyn and Cast President Kelvin Hoyle decided that, in light of recent
advertising difficulties and now this, The Rich Weirdors are no longer
performing at the theatre effective immediately. The cast is currently
on the hunt for another theatre, and will update as necessary. For
up-to-date news, check out The Rich Weirdos' webpage at: www.richweirdos.com
