What it is:

TRitem is a program that will let you add items to your levels created with TReditor by
Turbo Pascal. You can also add items to original levels from the TR series. Please note that you cannot
add items from outside the level.   Only the items that exist in the original level or that existed in the
original level that was used as the base file in TReditor will be available. At this time there is support
for TR1, TR2 and TR3.

                       Please note that while you can change items in the original levels, TRitem was meant to
be used with levels created with TReditor. Some options in TRitem will either not work in the original
levels or render the levels unusable. Be warned.

The interface is a bit rough and error checking is not maximized. So
please don't experiment on your only copy of the level.

You can add as many different items as you like, within reason. Choose a room, put a rat
in the corner, put a key on the floor, a keybox on the wall, a door for the key to open, etc. You can put
the triggers (switches, walk-on, etc.) in a different room than the item if you wish.

NOTE:          If TRitem is too slow for your video card: Before loading a level, bring up the 'special'
                      menu and choose the 'wireframe' options .

NOTE:          TRitem will try to carry forward the old floor data such as floor and cieling slants
                       except for those occasions noted. However it is not infallible so if you have a 'prized'
                       slanted floor/cieling sector , test the command first on a copy.

The toolbar can be used in lieu of several keyboard options but they are inherently slow to respond.
They are , left to right - remove last sprite, angle/direction adjust, static mesh delete, static mesh up,
static mesh down, other items up, down, and reset (use to move selector up/down before choosing
item)

Also insure that the target.bin file is in the same directory as TRitem.exe.

Here are two Unofficial level editors.
I have not used these to much, but they do work and may be easier to figure than the tr5 level editor.

What it is:

Treditor is a Basic Unofficial Level Builder for TR1, TR2 and TR3 levels,
    Tr1 gold version (*.TUB) is also supported, Tr2 Gold version is not
    supported, TR4 will be supported in the future.
This program WILL ONLY BUILD NEW BASIC LEVELS, it can't edit the
    originals levels from the CD.
With Treditor, you build all the rooms of the level.You'll specify if it's:
    indoor or outdoor,underwater,has quicksand or has a "sky"...
