As the
oldest daughter of two
And a tom
boy to boot, I noticed things about Daddy
That my
younger sister might not have or maybe just did not mention.
Daddy
went away lots when I was young and while he was gone
I always
dreamt of his return, awaiting his smile and his hugs.
He always
called me his little pumpkin!
An
endearing name I so cherish and love.
I always
felt as if I was his center of attention when we where together.
I so
wanted to make him proud of me no matter what I did.
As I got
older and was almost a teenager, I often went to work with Daddy.
We would
go to his shop; he was an auto body man and the best in my eyes!
I learned
lots working with Daddy more than he probably thought.
The one
thing that I learned being around him in his environment at work,
Was that
he was such a hard working man and took great pride in
Everything
he did. It was rugged work and strenuous too.
But even
though his hands where always dirty,
They
where always full of love.
Daddy’s
hands where sensitive, strong, inventive and full of wisdom.
Every
little line upon his hands had a meaning to me,
Of all
his hard work, love and loyalty for myself and family.
We went
through tough times and came through to see good.
You see me
Daddy always said there was a silver lining,
And that the good times
would come.
He was
always right they did come.
Now that
I am older and Daddy is too, you know
I still
look at him the same way like back when I was two.
Daddy is
everything to me I love him so much.
He is a
giant in my eyes and there is nothing he can’t do!
The
person I have become in life is greatly a large part to due with my Daddy.
I have
learned so many things over the years.
But there
where many things that I had learned and experienced on my own,
Never the
less, Daddy was still there deep within my heart and soul
Guiding
me through everything, making me become a stronger person,
Everything
I learned from Daddy I have taken with me
Through my journey of life.
No one
could ask for a better Daddy than mine.
So many memories and so much love.
Thank you
Daddy, I love you so much!
Always…Your Little Pumpkin.
